Gamers and fans were excited to hear on the press conference last Monday evening when Sony announced that they are releasing their newest gaming console, PlayStation3 in North America on Nov. 17. To add to their excitement, Sony publicized that they are releasing two versions: a 20GB Hard drive version that sells at $499 and a 60GB Hard drive version with a price tag of only $599.
Despite withholding the release date and price of their newest gaming console, the Wii, Nintendo gave a visual spectacle of the trump card for the Wii-remote controller. It gives gamers a more exciting experience with playing sports and fighting games, as it gives a gamer freedom of movement and a diversity of handiness that can revolutionize gaming experience, and proves being previously called Revolution does give it justice.
Nintendo focused on revealing the capability of the remote controller and also showed the 27 games available for the Wii. They highlighted the magnificence of the Wii to whet the appetites of gamers before announcing the price and it its release date.
Highlighting the Wii remote controller and diversity of games on center stage, and focusing on Nintendo's aim to make the game accessible and wide-ranging for their mass-base of gamers who have been patronizing their products. They named their newest console the Wii as homonym to we. In an interview, Nintendo VP for Sale and Marketing, Reggie Fils-Aime admitted that the name is receiving mixed reviews, but is a positive that fans will eventually recognize the name of the Wii. Fils-Aime was grateful for the response of a lot of people who wrote good things about the Wii the day they knew about it and saying in an interview, We want to thank everyone who wrote good things about it the day you heard about it.
Even though Nintendo keep on not announcing the release date and price of the Wii game console, they somehow gave a hint about these things. The company told that the console might be out in the market by the fourth quarter of 2006 and its price might be lower than the other new game consoles like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The company also told that they will have a different target compare with their competitors since they will include non-gamers or people who would only like to play simple games.
